INT. LAWYER’S OFFICE – DAY

A family sits in silence as a lawyer reads a will and testament of their lost loved one. As he does so his female assistant walks over to Chardonnay, a young beauty of sixteen years, and hands her her inheritance.

LAWYER

(reading from the will)

And to Chardonnay,

my only granddaughter,

I leave my two most cherished possessions.

One, the garden you and I nurtured

throughout your sixteen years.

May it be your sanctuary

whenever you are in need of one.

And second, The Book of Exquisites.

The guiding hand to help introduce you

to the priceless stages in life as it did me.

Her mother places a consoling hand over hers.

INT. GARDEN – LATER

Chardonnay, still wearing the dress she was in at the reading of the will, nurses a weak family of petunias. Nearby sits the book her grandmother left her.

Placing the petunias in a gently shadowed area Chardonnay accidentally knocks down The Book of Exquisites as she backs away.

Just as the book falls to an open rest a sudden slight breeze flows through the text’s pages until there is no movement as the pages come to a still.

(Keeping in time with the MUSIC) Chardonnay leans down to pick up the book. As she rises back up her view (and ours) of the exposed chapter allows its title and accompanying picture to be seen.

The picture is of a garden, much like the one we’re in, but so brilliantly lit that it’s too pure for reality. Below the picture reads: Sweet Sixteen.

We continue to push in to the pristine picture until we are completely inside.

Close-up of Chardonnay as she slowly looks around and realizes she’s now within the bright world she was just looking at.

With her gaze reaching the end (simultaneous with the notes dropping in scale) a figure in the one and only shadowed area steps out and into the stunning light.

It’s Darren, in a tuxedo with his hands in his pockets. He slowly walks over to Chardonnay.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

You’re-

sailing softly through the sun

in a broken stone age dawn

He puts his hand out for her to take.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

You fly

She slides her soft hand into his.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

So high

Darren starts to dance with her. Surprised and unsure of what’s going on Chardonnay still allows him to lead her in the exquisite encounter.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

I get a strange magic

oh I’m in love

Strange magic

always in love

Strange magic

got a strange magic

got a strange magic

(Just as the MUSIC starts to slow back down) Darren extends Chardonnay to his side while still holding her hand. Simultaneously their surroundings change to a…

Beautiful landscape. (Again more picture-perfect than anything in reality) medium to medium close-up of the two in the same side-by-side extended position, Darren still holding her hand and singing to her as meadows and the river beside it magically float by. (Or are they the ones floating by?)

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

You’re-

walking meadows in my mind

Now facing one another with both hands in each other’s their float has turned into the two rotating while starting to levitate upwards.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

Making waves across my time

POV of looking down at the landscape while rising up into the sky.

LYRICS

Oh no

oh no

Tracking up on their feet they dance on the clouds. Darren still leads, but Chardonnay is getting better.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

I get a strange magic

oh I’m in love

Strange magic

always in love

Strange magic

Darren throws in a little extra playfulness with his moves, causing an open mouth smile to come over Chardonnay.

On second ‘magic’ her back ends up against his chest, his arms around her. (Ending on a medium close-up of the two)

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

Got a strange magic

got a strange magic

During the instruments and before the next vocals their surroundings become dark and the background fills with stars. And again, it’s either them or the background that is floating.

His arms still wrapped around her from the back we start to fall back and discover they’re actually in a canoe floating down the river under the night’s sky.

Extreme close-up, Darren’s face beside hers.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

I’m never going to be

the same again

He dissolves/disappears from her back. She looks behind herself but finds nothing.

LYRICS

Now I’ve seen the way

it’s got to end

Her POV – she sees him standing at the bank of the river, the distance between them growing further and further apart as she continues downstream.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

Sweet dreams

The canoe is now heading up to the stars, Chardonnay frantic that she’s leaving Darren behind.

LYRICS

Sweet dreams

Chardonnay’s POV – going through the stars. (Tip of canoe in lower center frame)

LYRICS

I get a strange magic

Pegasus and his mate in the form of stars come flying towards the camera (still her POV) and engulfs it.

LYRICS

Oh I’m in love

Chardonnay’s reaction. (Mouth slightly open due to being transfixed)

LYRICS

Strange magic

POV again – two winged beings in the form of stars fly to one another. The male gives the female a celestial bouquet of flowers.

LYRICS

Always in love

Chardonnay smiles.

LYRICS

Strange magic

The winged beings look at Chardonnay. The female takes one of her long stemmed flowers which resembles a wand and waves it in her direction. It makes everything go white.

LYRICS

Got a strange magic

Now standing in a world of white Chardonnay can’t do nothing but wonder…

LYRICS

Got a strange magic

Darren pops up from behind and to the side of her face (extreme close-up, him looking towards the sky)

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

It’s magic

She looks to him, but he motions for her to look up too.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

It’s magic

Falling from above, flower pods burst open to a full blossom in Slo-Mo as they make their descent towards Darren and Chardonnay.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

It’s magic

There’s countless of them, all coming to life around the two and creating a garden like no other as they hit the ground.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

Oh

Strange magic

always in love

Strange magic

always in love

Strange magic

Darren catches a pod in the palm of his hand and holds it up to Chardonnay right before it pops. As it does so the exquisite look on her face says it all.

LYRICS

(Darren singing)

Got a strange magic

The beauty continues to rain down and create a world of awe.

LYRICS

Strange magic

Strange magic

Start to crane up. (Rather fast)

LYRICS

Got a strange magic

Slow down on the crane up. Darren and Chardonnay start to run through this wonder world and play together.

LYRICS

Whooh Oh… Oh…

Continuing to fall back we’re now back in reality. Back to the open book. The only thing that’s changed is the picture above ‘Sweet Sixteen’.

It’s now a picture of where we left Darren and Chardonnay. Continue with the slow fall back until…
